About Time (2013). Directing & Screenplay by Richard Curtis.

[Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams, Bill Nighy.]

What a quirky, peculiar plot, validated by some of the most honest, poetic storytelling I have seen in a long time.

Everything from the bold style of Screenwriting, to the tender orchestral score, to the fresh yet warm colour grading has been so carefully thought out.

The story divulges into the emotions and bonds captured between interpersonal relationships while managing to sugarcoat it all with a curious plot that is both out of this world (literally) while still bringing a manner of practicality that is both inspiring and honestly, heartwarming.

This movie is very special to me (I refrain from bias), a genre I don’t usually humour, and cannot define really with certainty, but perhaps the oddity of it all is what makes this film so endearing in the first place.

The cast is stellar, each character so individually etched out, adding new and enticing layers to the overall plot. A special shoutout to my hero Bill Nighy for managing to have me in tears on each occasion of revisiting this film (many, many times). I would also like to stake my claim that this film changed my perspective of Domhnall Gleason, I would watch this man read the phone book.

The bubbling chemistry between the entire cast is magnetic, believable, well developed!
