The Art of Video Essays
One of the newer, and more informative ways of consuming mass-media, is the evolution of video essays on YouTube. Many content creators have turned on their cameras, transferring the standard essay format to a platform that can be approached more freely, include external media, as well as express broader opinions and theories that can be further discussed in the video's comment section.
Some of my favourite creators are super informative, challenge binaries, and are overall good at becoming stable vessels for transporting fact and fiction.
